The Agrifood ITAB continues to partner with industry bodies such as the Baking Association of Australia and the female baking mentors to achieve its goals.
The program aims to encourage females to follow their passion and develop a career in the baking industry .
It is hoped that this new initiative will encourage women from all backgrounds to join the baking industry with strong female leaders as mentors.
Baking mentors provide demonstrations, showcase day networking opportunities and career coaching as part of this initiative.
One of the star mentors is Mikayla, who started her career 15 years ago and won NSW apprentice of the year in 2015-16 and the National Bake Skills competition in 2018.
She says about the program ” I’m delighted to participate in this initiative, I’m hoping this will inspire other women to join and love the baking industry as much as I do”
Camellia Holil, is a participant in the mentoring program. She is now a fully qualified pastry chef working in major hotels.
She says ” I want to thank the BAA and the mentor program for continuing to support me”.
